Fanged Mania (1)

To join in, copy and paste these rules and the above banner into your Fanged Mania post and add your link to this week’s Fanged Mania post at Elisabeth Wheatley’s Blog. Fanged Mania is a Friday meme counting down to the release of Fanged Princess and displaying all things vampire and awesome. Fanged Mania posts can be a review of a vampire book, a quote from the latest Vampire Diaries episode, a showcase of a cool vampire book’s cover, or whatever you like so long as it is vampire related. Don’t forget, participants will be entered in the drawing to win a fanged-abulous prize pack!

The vampire book that introduced me to Young Adult….

Twilight. Yes, Twilight. I know we’ve all heard that story “Twilight got me into reading again!” My story, though? I read V.C. Andrews for a couple years. Like, that was the only author I would read. Then I saw Twilight in the book store, with that amazingly simple yet beautiful cover. I read the back cover:

“About three things I was absolutely positive.
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him – and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be – that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”

I was already hooked. I would not stop reading. I’d read in the car, on the couch, in my room. Anywhere.

So then, the only books I’d read would be V.C. Andrews and the Twilight series. I look at my bookshelf now and amazed at what new books I’ve read since then. It’s wonderful :)

Did this book get you into YA? What was the first vampire book you ever read?

Wow! I am so happy to be a part of this cover reveal! That cover is extremely gorgeous. So dark, yet inviting. I love the font and the colors used. I honestly just cannot wait to find out if the inside of this book is as good as the outside. [I'm sure it is ;) ]

Musing Mondays (6)

This week’s musing asks…
Do you read the ending before you start a book? Do you ever skip ahead to read the ending?
I do, actually. Well, sometimes. Sometimes I read the last line in a book and then I'm anxious the entire book. Or sometimes I will open to a random page and read a line from there. I don't know.. I don't think it ruins the book for me.

November Goal

It’s me again…(of course it’s me. This is my blog. Who else would it be?) back with November’s reading goal. Last month I managed to make a dent in my TBR pile. Let’s see what I can do this month, shall we?

What I’ve Already Read This Month
Hidden by P.C. and Kristin Cast
Got this for my birthday and it was amazing. Obviously, it was amazing. I mean, it’s part of the House of Night series, why on Earth would it *not* be amazing? I am, however, annoyed that I’ll (I should say WE) have to wait an entire year for the next one. The annoyance is kept to a minimum knowing the next HoN novella is due to release in a few months.

What I’m Currently Reading
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Why….what….Where has this book been all my life????????

Casey Barnes Eponymous by E.A. Rigg
This is for review. It’s pretty good so far. The beginning was slow, but I’m sure I’ll get into it. Check back later for a review.

What Is Sitting On My Shelf, Just Waiting to Be Read (in order of planned reading schedule)
Glass Houses by Rachel Caine
Daughter of Light by V.C. Andrews
The Dead Girls’ Dance by Rachel Caine
God Save the Queen by Kate Locke
Divergent by Veronica Roth
Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
Really, really looking forward to God Save the Queen.

What Is For review
House of Magic by Malia Ann Haberman
It is middle-grade. Not something I generally read. Not sure what to expect.

Like with October, I will come back and update as I finish each book.

So, my goal for November is officially 11 books. I’ve finished 1, halfway through another, and working on finishing one more. That leaves me with 9.5 books (estimate) left to read.

What about you? What are you reading this month?

October Wrap-Up

So, I officially did not reach my goal for October. I did, however, get a lot read. You can see my initial goal here.

What I did finish in October:

The Coffin Club by Ellen Schreiber
Royal Blood by Ellen Schreiber
Love Bites by Ellen Schreiber
Settling by Shelley Workinger
Cryptic Cravings by Ellen Schreiber
Tempest by Julie Cross
Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins
Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
Intertwined by Gena Showalter
Sheltered by Debra Chapoton

Plus, I read a book for a friend. Since it is in the early stages of publishing, I can't release any information right now. I can say that is was amazing, though!

Hey guys! Here's a sweet deal: Lola St. Vil's series, "Guardians" has a special sale. For a limited time only, you can get each book for only $0.99 a piece. Sound good?

Here's some info about the books:

After his death,

Unfortunately it's not his sexy, telekinetic angel girlfriend --- it's Emmy Baxter... a human.

Between torture, demon attacks, and midterms, Marcus and Emily must fight their feelings for a devastating prophecy has predicted: "Should Angel and Human unite, humanity will perish

Just because she has wings,
doesn’t mean she’s an Angel…

It's front page news on every Angel gossip rag:
“Marcus & Ameana: Gone The Way Of “Brad & Jennifer.”
So, Who Is The “Angelina?” Emmy Baxter—a mere mortal!”

Ameana tries to avoid her ex and his new love by focusing
on the other evil out to destroy the team. But soon her pain
turns to fury.

And before the end…a girl plots revenge, a leader is on the edge
and an Angel falls.

There. Will. Be. Blood.

A Guardian declares war on the Angel world.

Before the end
Lives will be lost
Love will be tested
And blood WILL flow...

I've loved this series from the start, so I *highly* recommend taking advantage of this deal!
