Teaser Tuesday (4)

TeaserTuesday01
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB @ Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

•Grab your current read

•Open to a random page

•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Well, I am currently reading multiple books. You guys want teasers from each? Here ya go:

Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter

"Yes. He and my dad are friends, and he funds our activities. He can't see the zombies, but he's seen what they do to us and helps us when we're bitten--on the condition that Reeve stays out of it."

50 Shades of Grey by EL James

"I've brought you a drink. I'll be downstairs. Don't go back to sleep, or you'll be in trouble," he threatens, but his tone is mild.

The End of The World As We Know It by Iva-Marie Palmer

"The aliens were like apes at the zoo, poking the cars with their long, clawed fingers. They looked around for the source of the cars while Leo launched a remote-control helicopter and Sarabeth operated a remote-control inflatable shark."

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

"And round her waist she wore a silver-mounted green morocco-surrogate cartridge belt, bulging (for Lenina was not a freemartin) with the regulation supply of contraceptives."
Willow by Julia Hoban

"What the hell could you possibly know about what life is throwing at her? What the hell could you possibly know about why she's doing that to herself?"

Blog Tour and Giveaway: The End of the World As We Know It by Iva-Marie Palmer

Tour Sign Ups: The End of the World as We Know It by Iva Marie Palmer
Goodreads description: The Breakfast Club meets The War of the Worlds in The End of the World as We Know It, the latest release from Alloy Entertainment (The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, 666 Park Avenue, Gossip Girl)

They wanted to party like it was their last night on earth. They just might get their wish….

Meet the four most unlikely heroes ever:

Teena McAuley: Queen Bee, first-class problem solver, resident heartbreaker.

Leo Starnick: UFO conspirator, pizza delivery boy, all-around slacker.

Evan Brighton: Baseball all-star, extreme virgin, Teena-worshipper.

Sarabeth Lewis: Straight-A student, weekend hermit, enemy of the color pink.

When Teena locks Leo, Evan, and Sarabeth in the basement during her biggest party of the year, she doesn’t plan on getting trapped in the Loser Dungeon herself. She can barely imagine a night with these dweebs—let alone a lifetime. But when an alien invasion destroys their entire Midwestern suburb, it looks like these unlikely friends are the last people on earth. Now, it’s up to them to save the world….

Review: Okay so I'm only about 50% through with this (according to my kindle). I really wish I could have gotten it done before this tour, but well, life (that seems to be my excuse for everything these days). SO I'm going to give you a review of my thoughts so far. Here it goes.

Uhm, I'm lovin' this book. It is so entertaining and funny. The characters are great. The aliens! Oh my goodness. I think I love alien invasion books now. Where can I find more?

This book has been compared to the Breakfast Club. This is a completely accurate comparison. I love that movie, and I like how similar this book is. A group of kids who have little in common...brought together by weird circumstances.

If aliens were in the Breakfast Club.....

Yes, there's drug usage in this book, and sexual references. But it's about teens, and it is realistic.

From what I've read so far, I'd recommend this book to anyone. I'm really enjoying it. And yes, I will come back when I'm finished to elaborate on this review.
