Musing Mondays (7)

Musing Mondays is a weekly event where MizB from Should Be Reading asks a reading related question, and you answer thoughtfully.

This week’s musing – courtesy of http://www.kwizgiver.com - asks…
Is there a particular book that is your nemesis–the book you’re determined to one day finish?

Yes... City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I have actually read the entire book, but honestly I don't remember any of it. Everyone loves the series, so I don't understand why I didn't thoroughly enjoy the first book.

2013 Resolution: Get the this series!!

Musing Mondays (6)

This week’s musing asks…
Do you read the ending before you start a book? Do you ever skip ahead to read the ending?
I do, actually. Well, sometimes. Sometimes I read the last line in a book and then I'm anxious the entire book. Or sometimes I will open to a random page and read a line from there. I don't know.. I don't think it ruins the book for me.

Musing Mondays (5)

This week’s musing asks…
What distracts you when you really “should be reading”?
Ummm, Minesweeper or Mahjong Titans, if I'm reading on my laptop. Usually that's all that distracts me. Sometimes I just have a short attention span or can't sit still. Other times I'm swamped with homework. Guess that's what I get for taking advanced classes.

Musing Mondays (4)

Musing Mondays is a weekly event where MizB from Should Be Reading asks a reading related question, and you answer thoughtfully.

What are you currently reading? And, is it better, as good as, or worse than your last read?
Right now I'm reading Hourglass by Claudia Gray. Can I even describe how much I'm in love with this series? So incredible. I just finished Stargazer last night and am only a chapter into Hourglass, but it is just so amazing already.

This week’s musing asks…

When you walk into a bookstore — any bookstore — what’s the first section you head toward (what draws you)?

All right.. So, the first thing I go to is the "new books" section. That's right next to the bargain books, so I go there next. The only "adult" books I read are V.C. Andrews novels, which is where I head to after the bargain books. Then finally, I spend a very substantial amount of time in the "young adult" section, staring at all the pretty books. :)

Musing Mondays (2)

Musing Mondays is a weekly event where MizB from Should Be Reading asks a reading related question, and you answer thoughtfully.

This week’s musing asks…
• Do you read books that are part of a series?
• Do you collect all the books in the series before starting? What if the series is brand new, and the only book that’s been published so far is Book one? As subsequent books in the series are published, do you go back and re-read the preceding books?

Of course I read books in a series! I love following the same characters throughout multiple books. I get really bothered, though, with long series. The House of Night series is getting kind of annoying because there are just so many books.

If I start the series after all the books are out, I will try to get all at once. But if I start it at the beginning, no, I won't wait for all books to come out before starting the series.

When a new book in a series comes out, I do go back and re-read the others. I just like to refresh my mind on what happens.

This week’s musing asks…

Did you do any reading in lieu of watching the football game, yesterday, or were you foregoing reading to watch the game? If you read a book (or books) what did you choose?

I actually read during the game. It wasn't easy, though. I literally stared at the t.v. during commercials waiting for The Hunger Games trailer to appear. It didn't. :( Luckily I saw it during the pre-game show. :D

Anyways, the book I was reading was:

Fallen in Love by Lauren Kate
