Release Day: Promise Me This by Sarah Ashley Jones + Giveaway

Promise Me This by Sarah Ashley Jones

Cover Design by Okay Creations.
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Welcome to the South - where the tea is sweet and the accents are sweeter. This Southern way of life is all Charlie has ever known. It’s not until she loses the only person who pushed her to break free of the Southern Belle mold that she starts living the life she needs and not the life her parents forced on her.

Jhett has lived on the edge for as long as he could remember - constantly teetering back and forth between being a rock star and living a normal life. His rebellious and sometimes arrogant attitude is known to get him into trouble, especially with the girls who hang on his every move.

Charlie never thought that a trip to pack up her brother’s apartment would leave her feeling even more unsettled about the grainy details of her brother’s death. Her quest for information leads her straight to his old hangout and into arms of Jhett, who suspiciously knows more about her situation than he ever should.

Only a few questions remain - Can you trust someone based on their word alone? And if you make a promise, how far will you go to keep it?

About The Author

Sarah Ashley Jones was raised in San Diego, California, but currently wrangles her husband and four dogs in Clarksville, Tennessee. When she's not writing she works in a pottery studio and comes home covered in paint on a daily basis. She has a slightly unhealthy obsession with cupcakes and chapstick. She is an eternal optimist and can often be found dancing and singing to music at any given time. It's rare to see her not smiling or laughing, but if you do, just bring her a cupcake and it will cheer her up.

Promise Me This is her first novel and is a story that weaseled its way into her heart and wouldn't leave her alone until she typed it up on the computer. She already is hard at work on ideas for her next book and hopes that the

characters never stop coming to her. Her huge imagination was always in overdrive as a child and now she is beyond excited to put it to good use as an adult. She plans to write as long as she has stories that need to be told.

HERE'S A LITTLE TEASER JUST FOR YOU

“Is there something on my face?” I asked, mid-wipe.

      “You’ve got a little…frosting…” He

chuckled as he brought his hand up to my cheek and ran the gentle pad of his

thumb over my now parted lips.  He

inspected his work and frowned.  “I don’t

think I got it all…” His voice was a low growl as he leaned in and kissed the

corner of my lips; trailing feathery kisses at a teasingly slow place down to

the center of my bottom lip, before sucking it all the way into his mouth.  He nibbled on it softly while he tangled his

hand into my hair and deepened the kiss. I was leaning into him, craving more

of his touch with each second that passed.

Jhett brought his other hand up to my cheek, cupped my face

with both hands, and broke the kiss.  I

let out an unexpected whimper as he drew my forehead in to his.  “Any more of that, and we won’t make it to

the rest of your birthday presents,” he said between breaths.

I sat back and folded my hands into my lap.  “Well, if we get to do that again as one of them, I’m all about it,” I smirked at him.

ARC Review: Promise Me This by Sarah Ashley Jones

promise me thisGoodreads description: WARNING: This book is intended for mature readers due to strong language and sexual situations.

My review:

This book was…perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Sarah’s writing style is easy and enjoyable to read. It’s one of those books you could easily sit down and read all day because it flows so well.

The characters are perfect, too. I say that, meaning…they’re human. Of course they have flaws. But you could relate to Charlie, or Jhett, or even Ginger. Charlie is probably one of my favorite main characters ever. Like Jhett says, she’s everything that’s good in life. She’s a character you could look up to.

And Jhett! Wowza! New book crush!! He’s this tough guy with a soft side and..how can you not fall in love with him?!

This is my first New Adult book I’ve read. I’ve got to say…I’m not disappointed. I’m glad this was my first. I hope to read many more NA books in the future. Especially from Sarah! I don’t think I’ve needed a sequel as much as this in my entire life!

I’d definitely recommend this book, which comes out tomorrow, June 17th! You can come back here for the release day post and links :)

Cover Reveal: The Chalice of Malvron by Elisabeth Wheatley + Giveaway

Janir3 cover draft006-1The Chalice of Malvron blurb: A princess with no recollection of the past eight years. War on the horizon. Who to trust? Who to save? Sixteen-year-old Janir Caersynn Argetallam wakes, sore and disoriented in the home city of her people, surrounded by relatives who seem concerned for her well-being. As she tries to recover, the Argetallams’ allies, the Stlavish, prepare to unleash a magical relic of untold power against the Argetallams’ age-old enemies, the Brevians. Janir watches silently from the sidelines until she meets a warrior elf and a strange wizard-boy who claim to know her and make her feel…confused. They claim that everything she’s been told is a lie, that her memories were stolen at the command of her father, the Lord Argetallam. As the eve of Brevia’s destruction draws closer, Janir finds herself with the power to stop the Stlavish. Conflicted and confused, she must decide whether she will allow Brevia to be conquered or if she will betray her father and destroy the relic—the Chalice of Malvron…

About the author: Elisabeth Wheatley is a high school student homeschooled in the Texas Hill Country. Blog Tour: Jaded & Faded by Mercy Amare + Giveaways

Goodreads description:
I'm Scarlett Ryan.

Yes, THAT Scarlett Ryan.

I live an extraordinary life: millionaire rock star, owner of exotic cars, pictures of me in every magazine, millions of fans, and a name that is recognized world wide. It's supposed to be my dream come true. But, my life IS a fantasy, and I want real. I want exciting. I want... NORMAL.

So, I moved from California to Florida, hoping to obtain some normalcy. Instead I find...

Stephan Montgomery.

He's an arrogant jerk. Seriously, I hate him. I swear if he tells me one more blonde joke, I will punch him... again... Unfortunately I can't stop thinking about him, or his gorgeous green eyes. Trust me, I know that he's bad for me. If only my heart would listen.
I also find out that my parents have kept a LIFE CHANGING secret from me. I need to know the truth.

The harder I strive for normal, the stranger things seem to get.

Jaded is book 1 of the Rock Star trilogy

Goodreads description:
I left Hope – the only place I’ve ever felt at home. So now what? Where do I go from here?

When I left, I didn’t just leave my home. I left my friends, my sisters, and Stephan… I just found them. I can’t lose them now.

I know that I want to do MY music. I need to remember WHY I wanted to play music in the first place. And the only way to get that is by firing my dad, but that may be harder than I thought.

On top of everything, I now have cameras following me around everywhere. Even my own home isn’t safe anymore.

I’ve come to realize that normal will never be an option for me.

Duel Review: Okay I decided to do a duel review because I started Faded as soon as I finished Jaded and I felt it would be easier to write a review for both as one so as not to mix them up. Also, this is the first review I've written in a while so bear with me please.

I am so  torn between whether I love the series or not. On one hand, I couldn't put the books down. I read Jaded in one day which is unusual for me lately. On the other hand, I don't really like Scarlett.

Scarlett, at first, seemed really snobby. "I'm Scarlett Ryan, everyone loves me blah blah blah". Then we get to know her and she's honestly a good person but extremely high maintenance. 6 inch heels everyday? Really? She'd have to go under the list of characters who I don't like but I care about. She's grown on me a bit.

Then there's the romance. Okay I definitely expected there to be a love triangle, which there wasn't. And I'm so happy about that. I really love Stephan and Scarlett together, especially in book 1. Book 2 seemed to revolve too much about how much they wanted to have sex together but they wouldn't because of personal reasons. I think Stephan's a great guy for Scarlett, but I don't think she's ready for a relationship yet.

I don't know much about the "rock star" industry so I can't really talk about how good of a portrayal Scarlett's life is. From what I do know, Mercy Amare does give a pretty good fictional display of this life style. I can't complain about that. I wish I knew how Scarlett sounded, though. Maybe Mercy will record some songs, yeah? ;)

I don't really have much else to say without rambling. Overall, these were good books. If you're looking for a light read, pick up Jaded. That one is probably my favorite of the 2 (however, Faded left me wanting more by the end. I definitely need book 3 soon).

Lastly, just give Mercy Amare's stories a chance. I've read a few of her other books and all I can say is: you'll definitely get attached to her characters.
