Blog Tour: Dracian Legacy by Priya Kanaparti

Goodreads description: Ren and Axel are caught between two powerful magical races: one destined to end the bloodshed, the other out for vengeance.

Seventeen-year-old Ren Pernell is prophesied to end the war between the Dracians and the Telalians. So when a Dracian, Axel Knight, is sent to find and bring back the prophesied one before she turns eighteen and Telalians discover of her existence, unexpected sparks start to fly between the two. Once Ren finds the truth behind Axel’s arrival, she wants everything to do with him and nothing to do with his mission.

Things prove to become difficult as Ren’s life is constantly threatened by the Goarders, humans who sold their souls, a Proxy Succubi, and the leader of the Telalians, who has been searching for her as well.

With the clock ticking and Ren’s life in jeopardy, it is no longer just a mission for Axel. It becomes a personal endeavor to save the only one he’s ever loved. In a heart racing ending, they must find a way to evade the preordained war that won’t also end Ren’s life.

Review: Oh. My. This book was wonderful.

Let's talk about the romance first. My shipping of Ren and Axel was one of the strongest literary ships I've had in a reallyyyyyy long time. But there was a love triangle! Even that was good though. Usually triangles get kind of annoying but I actually enjoyed this one.

And then the Dracian part. I don't know, um, am I the only one who thinks of dragons when I see this word? I was kind of hoping there would be a whole bunch of dragons in the book. There weren't. Still a good thing. The whole Dracian concept is original.

However.... the real paranormal aspect to the book didn't get strong until 3/4 through the book. I felt like a lot of the story was just about a teenage girl's relationship with a guy who just happened to be part of this secret society. So, I wish the magic and stuff would have gotten more intense sooner.

Also, I thought the time line was kinda sketchy. At times I didn't know who knew what, and at what times, and yeah... Maybe I just wasn't paying attention enough to details? Or the fact that I was reading this until 1am last night? (Pretty sure I fell asleep while driving today. Oops.) But it was something that could be overlooked and didn't really take away from the story itself.

I actually really really loved this book. It was better than I was expecting it to be. Definitely amazing for an author's debut book (Well done, Priya, well done *slow clap for Priya*). I am really excited for the sequel!
